I still have my Austrom LORAN receiver and the square loop antenna. It
always seemed to have better stability than GPS so I was sad when they
shut it off.

Where is Wildwood and also does anyone know if there will ever be a
station in the West Coast?  I previously used Fallon NV. I am in San
Jose, CA

Jeffery would be interested in your square loop antenna design.
With respect to square loops for wwvb I use a 10' X 10' antenna with preamp
something like 800' od wire in the loop and cap to resonate with a preamp.
As mentioned the stations in NJ so you will not hear it.
Wildwood is actually a lower power test station. It seems to cover the
east coast well and out to Indiana.
However back in 2015 region they did indeed fire up one of the stations in
the west.
And on rare occasion may have had 3 going. That is all that will be needed
to cover the entire US with effective signals for PNT. Its not really for
navigation. Though they did do some experiments could navigate on two
signals. Can't explain it. But suspect if you start out knowing your
location you know what side of the signal your on.

Just replaced part of the feedline to the LORAN antenna. About 100' of
160'. Need to test the preamp and then the receivers 2 X austron 1 X SRS.
Not been on since 2017. Nor has my simulator. What magic or smoke awaits me.
