MicroPulse™ has been a leading brand of GPS and satellite communications antennas for over 15 years. Their antennas are used by many U.S. GPS receiver companies, as well as most branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and NATO allies.

MicroPulse
409 Calle San Pablo
Camrillo, CA 93012 US

The company was acquired by PCTEL, based in Bloomingdale, IL (Chicago western suburb -- about 10 miles from my QTH).

Why is the noise figure so high on these antennas (2.5 dB)?  Is that some
pre-filtering, perhaps?

They are designed as timing antennas. That normally puts them in a “lots of RF” environment.
(like a cell tower). They should have some filtering in front of the preamp and a preamp that is
fairly good for IMD. There has always been a lot of debate about this or that one actually having
improved performance in these respects.
