Hi,

I picked up a Brandywine GPS Master Clock today at a hamfest and am
hoping to get it working.

It came with a 3-ring binder with dip switch settings and ASCII command
descriptions.

Based on prior postings, it seems like it's serial port behaves a lot
like their GPS-4 model.

My unit had a bad DC to DC converter, so I bypassed it and am running the
thing off a 15V DC supply at least for now, measuring 5VDC out of the little
switching regulator, and 11.5 out of the 12VDC regulator.

I suspect there may be something wrong with the GPS module, but would
welcome feedback from group members.

I have tried both the GT1M "High Gain Amplified GPS Antenna" that I received
with this, and a GAA3 2.5-12V "Active L1 Band" antenna, with the same results.
This unit is pristine looking, like it was never used or messed with.
It came with a beautiful TrueTime RD-2 IRIGB display.

Here is what I get on the serial port (just pins 2,3, and 5 connected).

Hi again,

As best I can tell the FURUNO GT-80 GPS module in my Brandywin GPS-4 is bad.

The module says: GT-80B5F

Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing or replacing the GT-80 ?

Mark
