Thanks to a reply from Angus the 53131A is sending data every sample now!!! "Something to check - in the 'Utility' menu, if the HP-IB is set to 'Talk' rather than a numeric address, it does just what you describe and only sends data every few seconds. Angus. Thanks!!!! Corby
