The stock ntpd has worked with HP Smartclocks for about two decades now. It is the "GPS_HP" module. The documentation mostly refers to the HP58503A but for all ntpd purposes, the Z3801A is the same except for different default baud rates and serial parameters. https://www.eecis.udel.edu/mills/public_html/ntp/html/drivers/driver26.html ntpd is not point-and-drool "watch the satellites move individually in real time via graphics" software. ntpd is "turn it on and leave it" software. Logging via standard ntpd logfiles can produce some good long-term EFC statistics but again it is not point-and-drool stuff.
